i don't know how many of you read short stories but this book was bought for me for Christmas, in a set of other books for teenagers, it was written by Roald Dahl and comes under his work for adults. he was a very versatile writer and didn't just write for children as many people (understandably) believe. this is a series of short stories about various things, none of them are too long so that they become boring, they all capture your imagination and your interest and get better as you read on. my favourite was one about poaching but i can't recall what it was called. this book should also be called How To Write A Successful Short Story because he ends them so well, with a little twist to the tale, some kind of final irony which i really like.

Ooo that sounds interesting, I've not heard of this book before! I used to love Roald Dahl, I've read a few of his books and they're all really funny....George's Marvellous Medicine and The Twits were my faves. And Fantastic Mr. Fox! I'm not familiar with any of his adult books tho
