I'm on a roll with these topics Thought I'd do a music one ;D
Who are your Top 10 Best/Favourite Bands/Artists?
Mine are:
Savage Garden – Darren Hayes’ gorgeous voice, Daniel Jones’ great music arrangements… how could you go wrong with these guys? I have both albums, and when the depression hits I dig ‘em out for a bit of the ol “Savage Therapy” my friend and I used to do back in high school
Evanescence – When I got the album I listened to it nonstop for ages My favourite song is My Immortal, it’s so sad but it’s beautiful. Amy Lee has a great voice.
Foo Fighters – I’m yet to own one of their albums, but I still love their work. Their filmclips especially are quite good, specially the Footos one, hehe! It pays out the whole Mentos thing
Matchbox 20 – I have all three of their albums – I love these guys! I think I like their third album the most, but I can’t really pinpoint one song I like better than any other.
Barenaked Ladies – I took a wild stab with these guys. See I really liked their song “It’s All Been Done”, but couldn’t find it anywhere, til I found the album it was on. So I bought it But it worked out well, because I love the whole album. I have two of their albums and I really need to get them out and listen to them again, they rock
Odds – Rather unknown Canadian group. I got into these guys after hearing one of their songs on the soundtrack of “Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy” (movie I love ) Now I own two of their albums (found them by chance, and they were both cheaply priced, as well, which is cool), and I love them ;D
Guy Sebastian – Australian Idol winner 2003… but don’t hold that against him This boy can sing! And he’s not just a singer, he’s a true musician as well, writing and arranging his own songs, and he can play instruments too. And he lives about 20-30 mins away from where I live Well he used to anyways, I’m guessing now he’ll be moving to Sydney to further his career, which I hope will be a long and successful one. Go the Fro!
Christina Aguilera – Dubbed a slutty whore by many. And yeah ok, sure, her dress sense leaves little to the imagination. But I just love her voice! Powerful set of lungs on this one And her songs are somewhat inspirational too, like “The Voice Within” and “Beautiful”.
Michelle Branch – Very talented young lady… she’s younger than me, and she’s achieved so much, grr I always respect an artist who can write their own lyrics, music and play their own instruments. And she does all three. And, she doesn’t have to wear skimpy clothing to get attention. You go girl!
Royal Crown Revue – I love jazz music, and that’s what these guys play. I went to see them live when they toured Australia, and it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen. If you’ve ever seen The Mask, you’ll have to know “Hey, Pachucco!” , the song that Stanley (as the Mask) and Tina dance to in the club That was RCR! They also appeared in the season 4 episode of “Buffy” entitled “Superstar”.
And I know I’ll go over my Top 10 limit But I think Powderfinger, an Australian band, deserves a mention here… I just bought their album, “Vulture Street”, and it’s great!
