I just read something... It's so much like me! "It's really awful to have to go through life as someone suffering from obesity: you feel worthless and sometimes you are lonely and unhappy. You have a tendency to apologize for being the way you are. You don't ever dare to eat a single snack because you are afraid people will immediately say 'It's your own fault, it is all your doing.' Apart from the practical problems you face as a sufferer, like seats that are too small in buses, theaters and cinemas, and not being able to find reasonably priced clothes in your size, you also have to fight all kinds of prejudices: you are seen as dirty, lazy, antisocial and stupid. You also have to put up with all kinds of comments like 'cow', 'elephant' and 'pig.' Even from your closest associates! I also experience difficulties in finding work and entering into relationships. People go by what you look like. What I really find hardest of all is that people don't take you seriously, which means that in the end you feel totally isolated." I took that text here : www.obesity-online.com/Patientinfo/concepts_of_overweight.htm

It's not so great being as thin as I am either... My own mum thought I was bulimic at one stage... I might not understand how you feel from your point of view, but I do understand how it feels on a different level... If you ever need to talk, I'm always available, k?

I know how you must feel... In our society, being different is almost a crime. Thank you for your nice reply. *Hugs.*

Yeah, that's a sad thing here too... Guys at school hate me because my mother is a teacher... It isn't easy if your mother is a teacher... They think thatI'm the same person as my mother...

I was once told I looked and sounded like a guy... that made me feel wonderful, I'm sure Mind you the person who said it was a total moron so yeah... go figure... You're welcome, I hope you feel a little better It's not fair that people treat you like a freak because you're different - everyone's different, that's what makes us who we are - "if everybody looked the same, we'd get tired of looking at each other"... Besides, it's what's on the inside that counts. I know people who are really attractive but they are very shallow and narrow minded. On the other side I know people who aren't as attractive on the outside but they are fantastic friends and great people on the inside...

It seems like almost everybody commit at least one crime these days. Looks don't say anything about who you really are inside.

In our society, there might be good things but there are also a lot of bad things...

Yeah... and we want the good to out weigh the bad... but it doesn't always work like that... Yeah... Did you know that 1 woman on 4 (25% of the women) will be a victim of at least one sexual aggression? That statistic really surprised me...

That's why I don't like watching the news or reading the papers... I don't like a lot of the things that go on in the world... the old saying "ignorance is bliss" can be a good thing, sometimes... the less I know, the more I can get on with my own life and not worry about things... doesn't always work... but it can help to know less... might seem a bit weird but it helps me cope, anyway...
