I was at my Live Journal yesterday, tried to find people that have same interests than I have, joined their Communities... and I found an interesting agent Smith board! I joined it, posted there, and suddenly... I was the center of attention! Everybody talked to me, asked me questions, wanted to hear my stories! I've never been as happy as I was there! And I have finally found people with same interests! Isn't that great? Now, how would I get them on the Manor...?

Wells... Don't pressure them, that's the main thing I managed to get a new member at my Collective board because I joined hers, so she joined mine in return, which was cool You could add some of the other community people to your Friends list, and let them know you've added them so they add you back - then maybe do a post in your Journal about your message board. I did that, and I managed to get another person to join, LOL! So... I guess you just have to see what happens... It's cool that you've met some new people though, Live Journal is great for that

That's great! I usually end up adding new friends on LJ because we start having a discussion about random things. One person I added because we were talking about the Olympics and one I added because we were both in a clarinet players community and we talked about our schools' bands. (hehe)

Hehe, yeah... LJ is a great way to meet new people Joining other forums about things you like can be good as well. I managed to get 2 new people sign up at the Collective board because of posting at another one they were both at, hehe ;D Branching out is the key

Unfortunately, I haven't managed to get new members to the Manor although I post on their Smith board! Am I such bad admin? I give up, it's not a good idea to keep a board that no one uses...

People use it. The problem is you need to be patient. My Collective board was dead for ages until I joined a LofG forum, and I got talking to some of the members and gave one of them the link to my board, so she joined up. Two others have joined up on their own terms (although one is still yet to post).
This board has seen little to no activity in quite a while, but I still persevere with it because it was one of the first boards I made, and I would hate to just delete it, I still love it.
I know how frustrating it can be, in fact you have no idea how close I've come to snapping at various people in regards to them not posting at my boards when I post at theirs, but I try to keep a level head. Getting angry and complaining all the time is probably going to be off putting more than anything else. That's just my opinion though, I don't know what others think necessarily.

OK... I just lack patience in lots of other things as well. Oh well... I just have to sit down and relax and maybe a miracle happens someday.

I'm sure you'll get people back at the board Hey, the Proboards emailing thing is working again, maybe you could try that?

Oh my God! I read about Priscilla: Queen of the Desert today! It's on DVD here, I have to find it somewhere! The only problem is my mother who doesn't want me to buy movies...
